Default Kenwood dnx5120 6.1" touch w/gps navigation dvd player

I found a refurbished one for $488 (Orig retail was $999). I think its a good deal. The unit is AWESOME - we use them in our trucks at work.

Anyone have experience with buying high ticket refurbished electronics?

TIA!

Given the lifespan of most high-tech items, I have no problem buying a refurbished item if the warranty's good and I'm going to save some serious dough. If a product's initial failure is due to an assembly problem or a flaky component, you can bet that the refurbished item will be "beefed up" a bit and thoroughly retested before being sold again. I've had nothing but good luck with refurbished items.

Yea, for a hundred bucks I'd personally go with a NEW unit for peice of mind. I pirchaed a Type R 12" sub, an alpine 600x4 and a 1000 watt mono amp from Sonic. SUPER FAST SHIPPING and everything was PERFECT. Plus they are authorized retailers!
